Censiq for product designers

Keep your design fee intact by separating feedback from new scope.

An extra direction, screen, audience, or reopened stage is not always ‘one more revision.’ Censiq helps you separate included feedback from new scope, approve the added price and timeline, and keep discovery, milestones, and handoff connected to payment.

  • Discovery paid before production
  • Feedback boundaries written into the agreement
  • New directions priced before more design work

Where signed work loses value

Feedback is expected. Unpriced expansion is not.

Design work needs room to evolve, but the engagement loses control when new screens, changed direction, and reopened approvals are treated as ordinary revisions.

01

A revision round never actually ends.

Comments arrive from several stakeholders over multiple days, but every message is treated as part of the same included round.

With Censiq

State the included rounds, require consolidated feedback, and keep the client’s approval attached to the agreed stage.

02

New screens hide inside feedback.

A refinement becomes another flow, platform, audience, or direction without changing the fee or handoff date.

With Censiq

Move additional deliverables into a signed change order with their own price and schedule impact.

03

Delivery and billing happen in separate conversations.

The prototype is approved in one thread while the invoice still has to be reconstructed and followed up elsewhere.

With Censiq

Connect each discovery, approval, and handoff event to a reviewable invoice draft and its current payment status.

Signed scope to paid invoice

From approved design scope to confirmed payment

The brief, feedback boundary, client approval, amount, and invoice remain connected as the design moves forward.

  1. 01

    Define the engagement

Record discovery, deliverables, revision rounds, approvals, exclusions, and handoff conditions.

  2. 02

    Sign and bill discovery

The client signs through a private link and the discovery deposit is ready to invoice.

  3. 03

    Bill approvals

Review and send each connected invoice draft when direction, prototype, or handoff is approved.

  4. 04

    Separate new scope

Turn added screens, research, or a changed direction into a priced change order first.

  5. 05

    Follow up and close

Send reminders, verify the direct transfer, confirm payment, and issue the receipt.

Built for product designers

Give feedback a clear commercial boundary.

Keep the creative process flexible while making discovery, approvals, included revisions, additional scope, and final handoff commercially unambiguous.

01

Paid discovery

What you gain

Separate research and problem definition from production design so the first phase has a clear output and value.

In practice: Example: stakeholder interviews, product audit, and a prioritized findings brief.

02

Approval-based milestones

What you gain

Tie payment to decisions the client can recognize, such as an approved flow or prototype, rather than hours spent in Figma.

In practice: Example: 50% at prototype approval before high-fidelity production begins.

03

Revision limits and handoff

What you gain

Record the included feedback rounds and define what counts as a new request before scope begins to drift.

In practice: Example: two revision rounds, followed by a separately approved change request.

Solve a specific problem

Commercial controls for product designers.

Revision limits

Define feedback rounds, approvals, and the boundary between refinement and new scope.

Change orders

Document added screens, research, or a changed direction before continuing.

Milestone billing

Connect discovery, prototype approval, and handoff to clear payment stages.

FIELD NOTE

Write revision terms that leave room for design work

Define feedback rounds, approvals, and additional scope without turning the engagement into a rigid checklist.

Fits the way you already work

One commercial record. No forced migration of your delivery work.

Your delivery tools

Keep doing the actual work where it belongs.

Keep Figma, FigJam, Notion, or your preferred research repository for the actual design work. Censiq handles the client agreement and money flow without trying to replace the tools where design happens.

Censiq

Connect the commercial decisions.

Use Censiq to record deliverables and revision limits, collect the signature, create milestone invoices, share direct transfer details, follow up, and issue a receipt when payment is confirmed.

Your client

Review, sign, and respond without onboarding.

Clients use secure private links to review agreements, sign, view current invoices, report a bank transfer, and receive a receipt. They do not need a Censiq account.

Before you start

Questions product designers ask before moving client work.

Clear answers about client access, payments, existing tools, and what happens after signature.

Does Censiq replace Figma, FigJam, or my research tools?+

No. Keep exploration, files, prototypes, and design delivery in your preferred tools. Censiq manages the client-facing commercial record: signed deliverables, revision boundaries, milestone billing, approved changes, payment follow-up, and receipts.

How do revision limits work without making design rigid?+

You define what a feedback round covers, how feedback is consolidated, and how an approval closes a stage. Refinement can continue inside those terms; a request that adds deliverables, changes direction, cost, or timing can move into a separate change order.

Does my client need a Censiq account?+

No. Your client receives secure private links to review and sign the agreement, view an invoice, report a transfer, and receive a receipt. They do not need to create a workspace or remember a password.

Does Censiq take a percentage of my project payment?+

Censiq does not charge a payment-processor percentage on a direct bank transfer. The client pays your bank account using the details on the invoice. Your bank or an intermediary bank may still charge transfer or conversion fees.
